Old Chapel Bridge in Lucerne
As we travelled to Switzerland, there was one thing we want to play and 3 must-see attractions we were looking forward to. For things to play, coming from the all season summer simmering heat of Singapore and getting the chance to do sledging in the snowy mountain was a dream come true for us. Then we got to see the sleeping lion-
In Lucerne, nothing is more iconic than the Old Chapel Bridge, or Kapellbrucke, it was a main attraction not just in Lucerne but Switzerland. It was said to be the oldest bridge in Europe. The wooden sheltered bridge was built in 1333 and ran across the Reuss River.
Frankly, there is nothing much to do on the bridge, but the locals and tourist especially, just love to crowd on the bridge doing something or doing nothing over there, everyone just fall in love with it naturally. But there are lots of things to do around the bridge. Eat, dine and shopping, they have it all here. I thought the surrounding shophouses and buildings complement the Old Chapel Bridge and together they made a romantic Lucerne.
Have a stroll along the bridge, go for a wild shopping spree, or simply sip coffee in the many cafés along the river, life is just so beautiful over here. In scenic Lucerne, no prudent photographer would leave this place without a few hundred pictures in the camera memory card. For the first time I hate myself for not carrying a DSLR camera.
I attached a video filmed by Irina Petrova, probably the best short video I’ve seen on Old Chapel Bridge in Lucerne.
Bucherer – the famous mall which sells lots of branded products, especially watches. A good buy for tourists as prices after VAT tax is much lower than what we can get at home country.
